FAQ

Q1: What is AA vs AAA?

AA requires at least 4.5:1 for normal text (3:1 for large). AAA is stricter: 7:1 normal and 4.5:1 large.

Q2: What counts as large text?

WCAG treats about 18pt+ regular or 14pt+ bold as large text. This tool uses that guidance.

Q3: Does a Pass mean fully accessible?

No. Contrast is one factor. This tool does not certify complete WCAG compliance.

Q4: Are colors uploaded?

No. Calculations are processed locally in your browser.

Q5: Which formula is used?

Relative luminance and contrast ratio from WCAG 2.x.
