Q1: How are Chinese characters counted as words?

Each CJK character counts as one word, while Latin words are split on whitespace β€” so mixed Chinese/English text stays accurate.

Q2: What is characters vs characters without spaces?

Characters includes every character including spaces and newlines. Characters (no spaces) excludes whitespace.

Q3: How is reading time calculated?

Reading time β‰ˆ word count Γ· WPM. Default WPM is 200; adjust the slider for slower or faster readers.

Q4: Is my text uploaded?

No. Counting is processed locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
